Hoodwinker Sunfish
Sunfish wanderer, compass-blitzed,
Beaches off course in Goleta,
Its 7 foot by 7 foot bodily disc,
Stalls forever on tourist sand
This hoodwinker, so-called because
No scientist could pinpoint
Its genealogy,
Was a glider in great waters,
Spangling lens of scales, bouncing
Light back to the ever following sun
Its giant pinched mouth,
Dainty
