Wind Poppy in memory of Tia Galipeau
Wind poppy, coral blushed,
Papaver volunteer
From last year's spring garden,
Sprouts out seam between steps
leading down to street curb.
The solo bloom bobs, waves,
Cups, circles on wire stem,
Leans, turns, shimmers, declares:
Here I am; watch your step;
At once I know it's you,
Proclaiming your presence,
Twined with a rare flower
And solacing my way.

Beautiful poem Laura. We didn't see that many poppies on our hikes this year but there sure were a lot of other flowers. Check out my blog for the past month's hikes with flowers. :) xoxo
