Jamb Figure
This angel of Reims
Sculpted in 1240
Is a pan-gender being;
They stand eight feet tall,
Their name is Gabriel
And they smile to all.
Saint Joan must have
Seen them
As she escorted
A fluxile Dauphin
To 1429 coronation.
The Reims angel,
Damaged in World War I
Was put back together
And still looks down
to those entering
Main cathedral door.
And what can we
Learn from this
Portal guide--
Be kind, be vigilant,
Wounds will heal
And still be visible,
Don't forget love
Is always present,
And
Coming forward--
